Who We Are
OilCert is the oil heating safety division of Utilities Combined Group. Our OFTEC registered engineers service oil-fired boilers, AGA/Rayburn/Stanley range cookers and oil tanks for homeowners, landlords, estate agents and home buyers across Hertfordshire and the surrounding rural counties.
We are part of a family of safety-cert brands — alongside Electricert for electrical inspections and Plumcert for gas safety — so a single Utilities Combined customer can keep every utility certificate up to date through one office.
Our Approach
We believe oil heating safety should be straightforward. That is why we have built our service around three principles:
- Clarity — Every CD/10 includes plain-language observations on the burner, the flue, the tank and the supply line. You will know exactly what was tested, what was found, and what (if anything) needs attention.
- Speed — A standard annual service takes 60 to 90 minutes; AGA/Rayburn ranges take 2 to 3 hours. Your digital CD/10 lands in your inbox within 24 hours.
- Compliance — Every service meets the requirements of OFTEC TI/133 (boiler installation and servicing), OFTEC TI/134 (oil storage), BS 5410 (oil-firing installations) and Building Regulations Part J. Insurers, surveyors and letting agents accept our certificates without question.
Our Certifications
We hold the following accreditations:
- OFTEC Registered — Required by manufacturers and insurers for any work on oil-fired appliances and tanks.
- BS 5410 & OFTEC TI/133 Compliant — All servicing, commissioning and tank work follows the current technical books.
- Building Regulations Part J — Notifiable installation and replacement work is registered through OFTEC's competent person scheme.
- Fully Insured — Professional indemnity and public liability cover on every job.
Utilities Combined Group
OilCert operates under the Utilities Combined Group umbrella, which runs a portfolio of utility safety brands across the UK. That backing gives us the engineer training, parts supply and back-office support that independent operators rarely match — and gives you one phone number for every safety certificate on your property.
